The release of the communist prisoner Rachel was a mistake. Though she may have a barren face, her mind is very strong. In the past decade she has ruined other countries’ economy by adding other countries’ money to her frail country. The last time people saw her was when she in a presentable suit in North Korea discussing in a palace about use of nuclear weapons.
Barren isn't being used correctly. You can't use it to describe a person's face unless you say it's barren of emotion.
